Real estate marketing doesn’t have to be expensive to be effective, but implementing this is critical. Is your marketing just not generating the response you want? Maybe you are doing these common mistakes.


Mistake 1: Talking too much or using too many words

 

It’s not what you say, but how you say it. It's a proven fact that people pay more attention to your attitude and your non-verbal communication than what you actually say. By mastering your verbal and non-verbal presentation skills you will give yourself the ultimate edge over the competition. Your listing presentation should be short and to the point while building rapport. Also people tend to scan, so they'll be turned off by wordy, e-mails and advertisements. Avoid falling in this trap by using salesmen like verbiage in your marketing materials. Mistake 2: Irregular communication.


Repetition is key to building your presence and brand. How often should you contact your prospects? I suggest that you be consistent as possible. Mistake 3: Leaving out your logo or trademark.

Time, money and effort has already has been used to advertising this trademark so this is already branded in many clients minds.


Mistake 4: Not tracking results.


Any money you spend on marketing that you can’t justify is wasted money. One of the greatest ways to find out where your business is coming from is by using separate e-mail addresses or business number for each marketing piece.

 

Mistake 5: Pushy sales tactics

 

No one wants to be sold. People don’t buy from salespeople they buy from friends and people they feel comfortable with and trust. They want to be able to decide for themselves and reach their own conclusions. Give your prospective client choices and don’t be too pushy.
